I completely understand your concern about both parts and long term durability, that is why Orion has an industry leading lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. If we canít repair it we will replace at no charge to you. That includes valve wear. You donít make a offer like that unless you know how well they are built. |
Originally I built these instruments only for use by my school district Godley ISD. They have been around for 6 years. Even though there have been 2 directors that followed me, they still buy primarily Orion. I am not going to shoot myself in the foot by making inferior or cheap instruments. The general public has only been able to purchase Orion instruments in the last 3.5 years.
Parts...yep we got them. And I can tell you from a repairman perspective that we have waited over a year from some major name manufacturers to get parts from. Some of our parts are completely interchangeable with major brand parts. Thatís because some of the 6 factories we use also manufacture for the major name brands. Most of you have Chinese instruments already and donít even know.
Constant improvement. Educators and professional musicians are our testing ground...and we listen. When we make improvements, if it is something we can retro fit, then everyone we have sold to will get the upgrade. Do we just slap our name on it and call it ours? Nope. It took 4 years and 5 prototypes to get our intermediate double horn to a level we would allow anyone to buy it. Same with the flute. Still donít have a bassoon yet...many prototypes, they make great floor lamps.
In short, we have parts, we build them to last and stand behind our product with the best warranty anywhere. We sell to colleges, private schools, public schools, individuals, drumcorps, we have dealers in Oklahoma, Missouri, Florida, Arkansas, S. Carolina, Pennsylvania and England. And now a store in France wants in. We have independent contractors in Texas cities like Houston, Dallas and New Braunfels.
We have been told by all of our customers that we could easily get double what we charge based on the way they play, look and feel. Our mission is to make quality instruments at a reasonable price in order to insure the survival and growth of instrumental music. But donít take my word...play them. We will be at TMEA, OMEA, FMEA and MMEA. Or, make an appointment and come by the warehouse in Fort Worth, we love visitors!
We are looking to replace several of our MS tubas, and one of the music stores we work with is pushing Orion instruments as an affordable, quality option. If anyone has had experience with these instruments, either good or bad, and you'd be willing to share, our staff would really appreciate the information. You can email me at email@example.com. Thank you so much!
