Re: Buying Bass Clarinet

I've had the most luck with the newer Selmers and LeBlancs. The Yamahas broke/had screws that unscrewed themselves all the dang time. |
The most important thing is to teach them to put it together, take it apart, and take care of it. BUY A SWAB FOR IT. Make them use it. If you are not sure how to do this, find a video on YouTube about assembly and care and have them watch it in class while you're teaching. Just make sure they're not squeezing long keys, shearing off the cork on the key that connects near the bell, or stripping the neck screw because they're not screwing and unscrewing it.
Most problems with basses could be prevented by us spending ten minutes really going into it. I'm trying to be better about it myself.
Looking to spend in the $2000-2500 range. I know there's a few options, does anyone have a recommendation or one to stay away from? Thanks.
