One of the things that has bothered me for many years is when directors try to say that other bands shouldn't do or perform something because it's over done. I've heard this mentality when it comes to pieces on the PML and for even stand music and shows. I for one, will not deny my band the opportunity to perform something just because others before us have done it. Is the Stars and Stripes Forever over done? What about Beethoven's 5th Symphony? Should we stop performing these since they have been played for over a century? To answer your question, one way is a bass slide downwards on a synth. It's a sound effect.
I know it's over done but...
How does everyone pull off that bass drop effect in marching band? Where to get the sound? Do you play it on a synth, drum pad, or computer? What speakers do you use to make it sound good?
I would like to use it once in my show this year.
