I have a question and there is not any intent to be snarky or anything. Legit question that I can't come up with an answer for.

Why is it that schools that choose to participate in the State Military contest still afford their respective areas a "qualifying" spot for the Open Class Area contest, thus potentially affording said area more spots in finals and more spots at State?

Area C 4a is effectively sending one band for every three that are performing at Area instead of the one band for every five like every other area. I just don't understand this reasoning now that we have a separate track for the military bands. Can anyone shed some light.
