I usually just mark it excused. We have other assignments for them to get their grade.

Sometimes when kids miss for other stupid reasons I make them do a recording. Record the full show, with stepouts, along with a recording. Maybe also the dance tune of the week for good measure.

If you want to be really evil, a written test over their dots for the show. Make them fill in their coordinates from memory.
