I like Osprey and North Face for those. Currently using Osprey the last couple of bags. Both have lifetime warranties. The one time I had a rip in my Osprey I was able to send it to them and they replaced it free of charge. They have plenty of pocket space, places for a laptop, water bottle pouches, waist/chest straps, and generally hold up quite well!

North Face was very similar, but I do like the Osprey's a little bit better. I've purchased most of my bags from REI, which is handy since they always have some weight bags you can put inside the bag to feel what it'll feel like weighted down.
