Retired directors have an even harder time going. Most cannot go because of very high hotel prices. We old guys (I am in my middle 70’s) really need the hotels close to the convention center, but they are the highest prices. Us seniors really need a break on the hotel prices and our registration should be minimal. These prices are why so many of stop going even though we love attending. Yes, I will be there. I go to both conventions every year and have since I started teaching back in the 1970’s (get your marching band off my lawn!), but I may not be going for much longer.
