Be eligible for and compete in 4 consecutive UIL contests (marching and C&SR) or advance to any state level contest (all-state band, TSSEC, etc.). Students can earn their jacket their freshman year if they want to.
You can get a jacket for athletics for sitting on the sideline. I want more band letter jackets seen in the school. I also want kids to have more than 1/2 a year to have one and wear it. It's very costly to add all of the cool patches and things that the kids want to show off. I don't understand why some make it so difficult to obtain. There are MANY kiddos that enjoy band and don't enjoy doing all of the extra stuff. Why should those be punished by a point system that makes it near impossible to have.
