I wish we had a "like" button. I've got our auditions this weekend, and I know that I am going to listen to many students that will sound fantastic, some who are *almost* there, and some who won't know which end of the horn to blow through...but their director required them to show up. What does that teach them....that they can take a beating (metaphorically)?
