If I have to listen to 70 clarinets, and 20 of them are wildly and obviously unprepared, I'd rather listen to 50 clarinets and save two hours, thanks. We're already there till after midnight on Friday auditions, and some of us have to drive home.

TMEA and ATSSB should allow the lead judge to cut off auditions.
