Thank you for asking. Having less bands at state ensures that the public image is aware of the exclusivity of making this prestigious event. It will absolutely make the judging easier since the best bands are there. I'd honestly like to see only 2 automatic qualifiers for every class. It's time to trim the fat. It'll also make the state contest less frantic.
