Did TMEA punish a district and all their groups for an infraction that occured with choir? YES

Did anything else occur besides a kid stepping out for 30 minutes? NO

Was anyone harmed or was any rehearsal disrupted? NO

Did the district or directors in question have any prior issues with TMEA? NO

Bottom line-TMEA said no to allowing the kid to come out of rehearsal and the director(s) made a good choice and a brave choice to have her step out and perform with her team, therefore TMEA punished the school and all programs. That is wrong! That is ego driven and there isn't anything more to the story or that matters. I know the choir directors at the school in question and these are all facts.
Punish the directors...fine but they shouldn't punish all programs accross the board. What a precedence they are setting!! What if that school had 5 high school in the district and all of them were now not allowed to enter honor band, etc? This is just crazy!
