many times we used the BCG (academy brand) solid shorts for our band. 4 years ago, I asked our shirt provider if they had access to gym shorts that had pockets. She found some that were about the same price as the BCG with side pockets. Since they were not "mesh" but solid the school allowed the students to wear them as meeting the dress code.
