The University of Texas Wind Ensemble will be performing at the Biennial Conference of the College Band Directors National Association, to be held on the campus of Texas Christian University this week. All of the concerts will be held in the Van Cliburn Concert Hall on the TCU Campus. The Wind Ensemble will perform Saturday afternoon, March 29 at 3:30 p.m. The concerts are free of charge and open to the public. The program will be:
Donald Grantham – Fanfare for the Maestro
John Corigliano – Triathlon
1. Leaps (Soprano Sax)
2. Lines (Alto Sax)
3. Licks (Baritone Sax)
Stephen Page, saxophones
Gao Hong – Celebration
Hector Berlioz/arr. Schuller – Overture: Le Corsaire
Warren Benson – Wings
Silvestre Revueltas (trans. Nefs) – La Noche de las Mayas
IV. Noche de encantamiento
On Friday evening, March 28,the same program will be offered at Allen High School Performing Arts Center. The concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the Allen High School Wind Ensemble performing:
Davide Delle Cese - L’Inglesina
Catherine Likhuta – Bury and Rise
Omar Thomas – Come Sunday
The UT Wind Ensemble performance will follow at 7:00 p.m.
