I grew up in NM and began my career there. New Mexico Music Educators Association has the best job board at the state level. There are far fewer jobs there compared to Texas, since it's rare to have our staff sizes there. Generally, the support is nowhere near what we have here with budgets. In all but a couple of situations you only play home football games, so you have some more free time there. Pay has improved the last ten years to where it's decent. You do pay social security and state income tax there, so that takes a chunk out of the paycheck.
