I would like to announce the continuation of a great opportunity for graduating seniors in your band programs. Our band scholarship funds for 2025-2026 can provide full tuition scholarships for the length of students’ degrees based upon their qualifications in our priority program.
How the program works: If a student auditions for the Kilgore College Band Program and is among the first 60 enrolled in the Fall Kilgore College Band by April 30, 2025, that student will qualify to receive a full tuition Band scholarship covering up to 16 credit hours in each Fall and Spring semester at Kilgore College throughout the length of their degree or certificate program for up to 2 years. Any remaining unused funds past the tuition can be used to cover books. Band class enrollment requirements will apply
Audition and Scholarship Award process: Our scholarship audition contains prepared pieces or piece excerpts, technique patterns (scales), and short sightreading. It can be completed at Kilgore College, on a student’s high school campus, by video, or by online conferencing.
Once students audition, they sign a Letter of Intent declaring intention of being in Band at Kilgore College in the Fall, complete the application process, and register in the KC Band as soon as possible. After the first 60 students are enrolled, more students may still qualify pending fund availability. Partial scholarships can also be available.
Students may request an audition by contacting, Derrick Logozzo, Director of Bands and Instrumental Music at 903.983.8276, dlogozzo@kilgore.edu
Kilgore College Band Program: We have an excellent Band Program with Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, Steel Band, Chamber Ensembles, and solo performance opportunities such as the Texas 2-Year College All-State Bands. The KC Band is travelling more and also hosting invitational events, festivals and camps. The Band Building is recently renovated and we have many other new program aspects.
Students receiving band scholarships can major in any degree or certificate program and be full-time or part-time provided that they are able to meet band program membership guidelines.
