There isn't much on the list of you are wanting to stick with the PML. Another post suggested Gershwin and Joplin. I would add:
Three Ghost Rags, Bolcom
Desperate Measures: Paganini Variations, Op. 48, Mucczynski (really cool, influences from lots of different styles, hard!)
And the works by Price might have some gospel or spiritual influences, though not really jazz.
