I really look at it like this though, I started teaching in 2005 for 28k. (In New Mexico, only director at a 3C, I think I had a tiny stipend). I came to Texas my third year and that went up to $38k. I'm 19 years into teaching now and sitting right below 80k. I figure by the time I retire in 15-24 years that I'll be past that 100k. Eventually this stupid deadlock on funds for education is going to be pushed through and I'd expect us to see 8-12k increases then pretty universally.
Just a matter of the politicians stopping the idiocy... I hope it happens in the next biennium!
