Many directors (often, but not always, they are older ones that have a history of success, or history of teaching for many years) who are willing to work through lunch or work through conference periods and think nothing of it. They do it because it with best intentions to help make their program better. (Don’t assume they are tyrants or workaholics, they just do it because it’s their nature or they want to give their students the best advantages for success)
If this is not your style, then let your head director know ASAP that you are not willing to make those same personal sacrifices of time. It’s important you don’t hide your viewpoint in this because someday it WILL come to a head and be a problem. If your “Butt Hurt”, get it out there and discuss it now, don’t wait. It’s better for you, your head director, and the program to discuss such things rather than hide in the teachers lounge.
And most certainly don’t do number two as Mithrandir suggested:
2. Report it to admin (with all documentation)
No head director likes to be “documented” behind their backs by an assistant, and by doing that you will most certainly end up in you doing number 3 from Mithrandir:
3. Finding a new job for next year 😉
Good Luck
