You do realize that I was using the OPs own words in my response - did you write a reply to them about it being a terrible thing to say to another professional in our field? Oh my - seems I did the same thing in my response to your reply.
Seriously, I never use the word 'loud' in rehearsal in relation to dynamics. Using 'strong' as opposed to 'loud' is an easy distinction for players to grasp. I do also point out that I do not think of 'piano' (which actually translates as 'floor') as the opposite - as in 'weak'. I like 'quiet', and have other ways of describing play the 'floor' of our dynamic level (basically).
