1. Are the "non-band" kids you invite to join the guard going to be willing to uphold your standards with the band? Behavior, grades, etc?
2. You're 2A. Are there enough 'unassigned" students to actually have a functioning guard that aren't already involved in band, cheer, football, and volleyball? There's only so many kids to go around already. It might be easier to simply have a twirler or two - and that one has a higher barrier of entry due to the needed skills. (And yes, even if you're a corps style band)
3. What do those kids do when marching band is over? Will they do Winterguard? Are YOU going to create and run Winterguard rehearsals and the like during your All-Region and UIL prep seasons or do you have another sponsor? Since they'll still be enrolled in your class at least from November to January, if not the full second semester, what are those kids going to do during the "off-season?"
