I would never buy a padouk xylophone for a school. Padouk is way too soft to last more than a few years - synthetic is a far better move. Do they have one available by chance in synthetic? I can understand the supply chain issues, but I would not go for padouk. (especially for an instrument you do need harder mallets on)
