Wave #1 is pre-UIL, with people announcing retirement and new schools opening. This wave has been a bit lighter this year. Some of these positions are even open to immediate effect, for what it's worth.
Wave #2 is post-UIL before the end of school, with people accepting new positions from Wave 1 and people choosing to move on (possibly due to UIL scores, good and bad). This one begins over the next couple weeks.
Wave #3 is end-of-school until the 45-day mark (usually early July). This is the big one. This is when most jobs open up and there's a lot to choose from.
Wave #4 is the "most people are locked into their contract but there are still openings" wave from mid-July until the start of the school year (or summer band, if HS).
We're still in Wave 1. You've got plenty of time. If you're worried, find a few TRUSTED individuals to look over your resume and/or do a mock interview or two. It might be how you are presenting yourself on paper is preventing you from getting calls for interviews.
Finally - most of Wave 1 and Wave 2 is HBD positions opening up unless a new position is created. You'll see people move into those positions and a lot more assistant positions opening up from mid-May on.
