I will be doing some school-approved PD this summer. Yay! My school is arranging all the travel which includes flight (within US) and a couple nights in a hotel. I just got an email from our school secretary asking for basically all of my identification (Name, DOB, Employee ID, DL #, and here's the kicker- my social security #).
I've seriously flown all over the world on about 100 different flights and no airline company has ever asked for a social. They don't even have a place to input that in the reservation system. She claims she went to a training this past summer that confirmed that the travel company my district uses will start asking for that info for reservations and sure enough the travel company is asking for it currently.
I'm not giving my social. There is no reason a travel company needs it. Have any of you ever run into this issue?
Thanks!
