I've been using my Pixel Slate for gigs. The slate has long been discontinued,but since it's essentially a Chromebook it's still going strong. The app I use is called Mobile Sheets.
Any Android and/or Chromebook with decent specs will be fine. But I would say that a good Android/Chromebook is comparable in price to iPad. Don't expect a $200 Android to run like a $500 iPad.
But if you're in the Apple/iOS system it just might be better to stay with that. Personal preference: I like MacOS for my laptop and Android for my mobile. It can be a hassle to be in both systems, but not impossible.
