You have two questions.
1 Do I require it? Yes.
2. Is it a benefit? No. But it *could* be a liability to keep it at school, so ...
(And furthermore, when we went on Forever Spring Break in 2020, kids who didn't take their stuff home had a heck of a time getting back to school to get it)
