In my 20's I was caught up in the hustle and grind, volunteering for board positions, lots of extra stuff. In my 30's I've stopped identifying myself as solely a "band director" and branched out to find new interests. I still strive to do well and challenge my students musically, but I don't care to spend more time than "necessary" in the Band Hall. What's wild is that... the sun still rises every day and I feel content with the quality of my work.
