I am asked to be a clinician for a 6th grade beginner honors band at a nearby District. This is the first time for me being a paid clinician.

I've watched honors band clinicians for 7th and 8th grades a lot, but I want to do a great job with these 6th graders and be invited back.

What are ways that dynamic clinicians start out the 4 hour rehearsal?
What is a good warmup that you'd recommend? (I've seen the Spider warmup and may modify that)
What is something fun/funny to share/do?
What is something you say at the concert that goes over well with the parents?
Any other tips?
