Not a lot of "top" or "cutting edge" developers are going to come work for a teacher's advocacy group/union.
Furthermore, not a lot of the TMEA membership wants or can handle a "cutting edge" site or app design. It needs to be simple to use and functional without being clunky. Keep in mind how many functional luddites there are that attend TMEA. And how many of our retired colleagues that don't or won't want to bother with all this "app bullsh..."
Personally, I think the app is far too busy. Giant buttons on screens instead of dropdown menus, banner ads that load before content, and intrusive tutorials that can't be skipped without digging in settings are all things I really don't enjoy. But I'm giving it a chance.
I also want to see how much battery the app is going to chew up while in the CC without wi-fi either. Hopefully it's not one of those apps that constantly "calls home" every time it's open to "update the schedule" - given how many cellular dead spots there are in the CC, I can see this app draining a battery in a matter of hours if it does.
