You know, the overplayed comment really makes me wonder. If band X has never played or performed a piece, how is it overplayed by that band? Just because 252 bands perform a particular piece does not make it overplayed. If the same exact band performs the same exact piece every single year, maybe then it's overplayed. But here's another thought. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has performed Beethoven's 6th symphony many times. So have many other major and not major symphony orchestras. Does this mean that Beethoven's 6th symphony is overplayed?
