With respect, I disagree with poster. Many judges "might" add a comment about instrumentation - uniforms - recruitment - etc. in order to give the band director ammunition while talking to their administration about problems to address. My college band director once told us that if you need new uniforms, you first have to convince the administration of the need - i.e., give an old uniform to school board member's kid. The last set of uniforms I bought - I dressed the board president's daughter in the sample to present the project for funding. She was great (and so was the board pres). If you have a comment about recruitment, use it to get better access to the elem. students. Nuff...
