Work the room! Get off the podium and run reps from the side of the band, in the middle of the band, behind the band. Sometimes proximity to the talking will shut it down.
Also ask kids A LOT of questions during reps. "Hey trumpets, on this next rep listen and tell me if the flutes are using vibrato." Rinse and repeat...
