If you want to play checkers, play checkers - don't get mad that someone else is playing chess on the same type of board. If you insist upon working in a Title 1 school and then get mad that your school doesn't have the same opportunities that a non-Title 1 school has, well, I hate to break it to you - welcome to capitalism. There will always be haves and have nots. That's how our education system is funded in this state. Want to change that? So do a lot of other people - good luck!
For example, Dallas ISD, a huge urban district, has resources that Iraan-Sheffield CISD (randomly selected rural district) could never dream of. Dallas likely spends more money on cafeteria tableware (plates, trays, plasticware, etc) than I-S does on their entire ISD *annual* budget.
That doesn't mean either of those schools is better or worse. It doesn't mean either should have or shouldn't have more or less opportunities. It is what it is. But if one CHOOSES to work at a Title 1 district, you know what you're getting into. (And those two districts were chosen because they're both also Title 1 ..)
