1. Students have to eat breakfast in the classroom. I told me principal how this isn't expectable in the band room. I'm told they need to eat in the room anyways.
1a. Kids had syrup today and guess where some of it ended up?
2. I've tried to get a hold of my principal for 3 weeks about getting approval for a fundraiser. They still haven't met with me or are unavailable when I drop by their office or even sent me an email. I'm sure they are busy.
3. 90% of my beginners don't play an instrument and frankly could care less. Why you may ask? Too many students, not enough instruments. District already knows the problem. Also all the specials are full so moving them to another class is not an option.
4. So much documentation for those same kids that eat in my room, leave it a mess, change my set-up, yelling at each other, not allowing me to teach the few students that do want to learn an instrument, even have fights that I can't even do the band things I need to do during my conference period.
It already feels like May.
But DESPITE all this! My band has never sounded better.
