Re: Why don't head directors work anymore
This is the season that head directors need the most grace and space to do their job. It's not just paperwork - it is all of the little things that come up that go along with the job that no one else has the structured time to be able to take care of. Checking tire pressure on the trailer, re-attaching those trailer hooks that came off last week during travel, taking the uniforms to be dry-cleaned, reading through and meeting with admin about the new district rules for fundraising and booster clubs, putting together the travel itinerary for this week, making sure that food orders are taken care of for the students, checking on the status of open POs so that the school doesn't miss deadlines for festival entries or the UIL entry, and the list goes on.
At a later point in the year, between end-of-year stuff and marching season, they should be more available. But right now, it is the crazy marching season.
