Re: Why don't head directors work anymore
I've seen plenty of directors "give" their directors the marching band but the ones I've seen are directors who are still an essential part of marching rehearsal. Also the assistants that I see that are stepping up are ones that do have that DCI background so I assume most of them don't mind at all heading rehearsal.
When it comes to coming down to the MS everyday, sometimes that's a hard request if they have a thriving program at the HS. But I've also seen the most successful verticals I've seen are when the HS guys do invest in their middle schools.
If they aren't coming down they have no reason to complain when it comes to retention.
