In short, yes, sort of. The issue at hand is when UIL is held at a location where the warm up areas are close to the stadium, and the sound coming from a metronome, presumably one hooked into a Long Ranger, is bleeding into the performance venue and affecting the performing group. Those of you who have performed in San Angelo, or Lubbock know about this...hence why they use the "Red Flag, Green Flag" method to control the sound bleed. The sticking point to this rule is that it can prevent a director from whipping out their phone and using a metronome app *without* linking it up to a loudspeaker. That way there is no way the sound will bleed into the stadium.
