Is it sad? Yes. But at the end of the day, who pays for it. A worthy organization to save it might be but who's money are you giving them, (if it isn't your own)?

And Houston has the 2nd largest number of theater seats in the country only behind New York. I would say Houston is doing a fine job of supporting the arts. Of course, when you have 7 million people to pull from and tourists that gets a lot easier.
