How much do you need for salaries?
How much do you need for operating costs?
Now once you have that number how do you generate the income? Donations? Ticket sales?
Let's be real here:
100 musicians average 100K, (some principals higher and others lower)
$10 million dollars in salaries alone.
You also have to pay for support staff, conductors, libraries, and facilities. So let's say all in we need about 18 million dollars annually before we ever open the doors. Let's say we have 1 concert per month and we need to sell 1,750 seats. So if they generate NO other income they would have to sell the tickets for over $800 each. That's obviously not happening so let's say they can sell them for $60. 12 concerts and 1,750 seats per concert means they get $1,260,000 in ticket sales. That's a deficit of $16,740,000. So how do you offset that deficit?
