Re: San Antonio Symphony - Sad News
You have volunteered the profits from 3 companies. That's generous of you. How about your profits? Got any personal money to donate? Why should HEB, ATT, and USAA donate to the San Antonio Symphony. What's in it for them? Maybe they send their tax deductions other places that they might feel are more valuable? Doesn't HEB give a ton of money back to schools? Businesses are not there to give money. Truth be told, if you tell me these corporations are making so much money they can give it away, maybe it's time to lower prices. Some on this board complain about greedy corporate America. Unless they will give the profits to your choice of charity?
Tax law is complicated. When they changed the amounts for itemization I no longer qualify. I'm good with that because my tax bill actually went lower thanks to those changes. I still give to charitable organizations but not because of the tax write off. I can't afford to give as much as it would take. I don't know the corporate levels but at some point it costs more to avoid the tax than to pay it. That's where I ended up. Maybe they did too.
Now stop giving away other people's money.
