If my job depended upon doing an action, say, "public performance" and then an unprecedented global pandemic made that part of my job literally impossible, then yes, a TEMPORARY (which is what was voted on and accepted) reduction in pay in return for a return to normal operations in the next fiscal year was appropriate.
