Re: Equal Opportunity Employers
Anyone who has taught for a number of years has horror stories. Here's one of mine. One of my brightest students (who earned a full ride to Princeton) was kept from being valedictorian by the head of the English Department because as she said "She doesn't know her place". This student was a great student leader but was Mexican/American. I wish I had shared the name of this teacher with my administration but I had fears of repercussions from this "pillar of the community". I later regretted keeping silent when this teacher was named Teacher of the Year.
