My name is Ryan and I am a recent graduate of Upper Dublin High School in Fort Washington, PA. I am an aspiring composer and arranger for marching ensembles, and I am planning to pursue a degree in Music Education from West Chester University in the fall of 2022.
In addition, I am currently the co-music arranger for both the Upper Dublin Marching Cardinals and the Upper Dublin Indoor Percussion Ensemble, two positions I am serving from the 2022/2023 seasons and on.
Just a quick question for all of you regarding any band(s) that may be in need of a percussion arranger for the 2022-23 season:
As a future music educator who wants to get the experience of working with a variety of scholastic groups as a composer/arranger and instructor (locally, of course), I am asking around if anyone knows of a middle or high school marching program that is looking for a percussion arranger for the 2022 season?
I must preface that I am not intending to gain any profit from writing for such a group, it is simply because I want to help out a program that may be in need that cannot afford an arranger, and I want to get the experience of working with different types of scholastic groups as a future music educator and composer myself.
I am a Sibelius user (yet I have experience using a variety of notation software) and I am more than happy to send some samples of my work to anyone interested, as I want this experience to first and foremost benefit the students who put in thousands of hours every season to make their respective programs, and themselves, better.
In addition, please don't hesitate to reach out to me via email (ryan.applecorpsmusic@gmail.com) and/or Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ryan.appelstein.9)!
Thank you in advance for your consideration in this endeavor, and I look forward to hearing from all of you soon!
Best,
Ryan Appelstein
