You are kinda saying the same thing that the OP said. So, wouldn't the sentence about not making you go into teaching apply to you, as well? Words are like a double-edged sword. They cut in both directions. Just an observation.

Me? Oh, I'm retired and doing fine. I didn't make a ton of money, but I am happy with my life, right now.
