Right, because I'm not a parent of a teenager or anything? Because I haven't spent decades in the classroom? Because I haven't spent decades teaching in the inner city? Because your blanket statement of a suit and tie being oppressive and racist but ignoring the fact that folks of all walks of life willingly put on such attire for any number of reasons. Ever heard the phrase, "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"? I had students that used to dress up for school. Not because whitey told them to do it. But because they saw "dress" as a way out of poverty and into business and wealth and freedom. They wanted to be doctors and lawyers and business owners and engineers. Color never played into their decision because kids don't see color nearly as much as adults, (especially a certain demographic of adult). Success did. I suppose the millionaire African American football players wearing 10k suits as they get on a plane is also because whitey told them they won't be a success unless they do? Good grief!

My horizons are plenty broad. I see people for who they are not what they look like. I refuse to live my life as a victim. I refuse to live my life being shamed, (I've done enough on my own as have most of us to be ashamed of), or ashamed of the way God made me. I refuse to look down on or shame anyone else because of the way God made them. If you choose to be a victim that's on you. Or more likely, as you have attempted to paint me as a broad-brush dismissive category I could guess a few things about you but I won't because that isn't how I work.

Greatest thing about this nation is that nobody is locked into a single path. The poor become rich and visa versa. The uneducated become educated. And please don't tell me how awful this nation is as we have thousands every single day risking their lives and the lives of their families just to get a shot at the American dream. Something must be pretty dang good about this place because NOBODY is busting down the border to get into most other countries around the world.

Stop seeing people for the color of their skin. And stop assuming that "conservatives bad liberals good".
