People looking for greener pastures instead of watering their own. Or the Pandemic brought out the worst in an admin and people are looking elsewhere. I doubt the exit from teaching is that out of line from years past, (other than a few retirees that held on a year longer so as to not go out in a Pandemic), but a lot are hoping to find a new building. If the economy crashes all those teachers that thought they were leaving the profession might find themselves running back. Government jobs look pretty secure during a down economy. And some of those retirees might be second guessing the exit if they have secondary investments currently sinking like a rock in a pond....
