A 2 is NOTHING to be ashamed of at TSSEC. There are 5 ratings on the scale and they will use them all. Getting a 2 is well above average. Not everyone can be a 1. Even someone that gives goosebumps might be very good but not very, very good. Maybe those minor technique issues were prevalent throughout the entire performance so while minor "did not fix quickly". Take the UIL rubric and get rid of "near" on the 1 column. If it isn't perfect for the ears of a college professor then it isn't a 1. I'm good with that. If the kid left with a positive experience they need to focus more on the music and less on the color of the medal.
