I don’t think anything about the OP situation sounds toxic. It sounds like a tough gig that has gotten too big for the limited staff. If you read the posts he/she want to improve the situation. Like others have said. There are a lot of openings this year, the “easy” and higher paying jobs will be filled first. OPs position sounds like a lot of work with some resume building potential. I don’t think this person is an abusive control freak. I do think that many of the responses to OP show an air of privilege that not everyone experiences in teaching.
