Interesting. So for your experiences and opinion it is less about the actual real world environment and more about being prepared for the actual real world environment? In other words, sitting in 10 ensembles with grad students playing amazing literature isn't really prepping teachers to teach and the Ed classes are even more out of date and less useful (my opinion).....

I was trying to find but at one point I remember hearing back in the late 90's a stat that more than half of teachers don't make it past year 5 but I can't find that research. I know everyone is focused on the now but I think teaching has always had a high turnover rate, we just didn't notice it because they didn't get to grandstand on social media on their way out the door.
