Exactly this. I have been applying for two and a half years, doing everything but literally begging at the doorstep for a new job. Two and a half years, one interview. And I know it's because I don't network well - but if networking is all that matters, why bother making me do the application or send in a resume?

For me, hope was lost a long time ago. Anything that happens going forward is a miracle.
